A 20-year-old woman was electrocuted after touching an electric installation. The incident happened in Hirova village in Calarasi district, the Communications Department of the I.C.S. “RED Union Fenosa” informed on July 9. The body was found during an inspection at the scene, Info-Prim Neo reports. The electrocuted person was a resident of Codru village, Telenesti district. She suffered from a mental illness and often left the parent’s house. On July 4, she was found in Hirova village accompanied by a minor boy, whose parents didn’t know that he left the house. In two days, she was detained in Hoginesti village in Calarasi district and taken home. On the night of July 7, while again in Hirova village, the young woman mounted the steps to the second floor of the Transformation Post, forced the door and entered the room where there was the electric switch. Touching the electric cables, she was electrocuted. Two fires destroyed crops on July 8. Tatiana Corceac, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo, that the Drochia firefighters struggled to extinguish the fire that was consuming a wheat field belonging to “Glia Surenilor” SRL. The fire affected 5 of the 81 hectares of the wheat field located near Drochia town. Allegedly, the fire was started deliberately. Fortunately, no one was injured. The police are looking for the offender. A firefighters’ brigade from Calarasi was called to put out a fire that broke out in a vineyard near Oricovo village. The flames expanded and destroyed 3 hectares of vine and many square meters of dry vegetation. During investigations, it was established that the fire was the result of inattentive use of open fire, possibly a burning cigarette thrown accidentally. A food products booth in Tabani village, Briceni district, burned to the ground on the night of July 9. An investigation is underway. A house was 80% destroyed in fire in Horesti village, Ialoveni district. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The firefighters call on the population to be vigilant. This year alone, the fires destroyed 1,056 houses, annexes, haystacks, cars, portions of fields etc. They took the lives of 109 persons, including 6 children.
