Young woman dies in bathroom

A 23-year-old woman has died in the bathroom of an apartment located in Chisinau on Alexandru cel Bun Str, being found by her domestic partner a few hours later. Silvia Babara, doctor coordinator at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that on Thursday evening the woman went to take a bath while her boyfriend was sleeping. When the man woke up, he found the woman lying dead in the bathtub. The police are handling the case, while the cause of the death is to be established by coroners. The same night, a 45-year-old man suffered sudden death in his bed. Unfortunately, his wife, a critical-care specialist, was on call at the hospital that night. An elderly man, 70, suffered brain concussion after falling from a hard-braking trolleybus he was travelling on. On Thursday, February 28, the Emergency Service received 800 calls, responding to 98 cases of acute viral diseases, 53 cases of trauma, and 9 brain strokes. The same day, traffic officers issued 425 tickets to persons who violated the traffic regulations. Among them there were 14 drivers under the influence, 28 drivers not wearing seatbelts, and 35 persons driving at the red colour.
