The age bracket for persons considered young was increased from 16-30 to 16-35, IPN reports, quoting changes made by the Government to the Law on the Youth.
Minister of Youth and Sport Octavian Bodisteanu said that this amendment, which is a legislative initiative of a group of MPs, will enable to include more persons in this social category, who will enjoy the same rights and concessions as the other young people of Moldova. This change will also facilitate access to European training and support programs intended for the youth, for more beneficiaries.
According to statistics, Moldova’s population totals about 3.55 million. The people aged between 16 and 35 represent 35%.
