The soldier who was shot dead on the territory of the Cahul-based motorized infantry brigade “Dacia”, Vadim Harin, was to do two more months of military service. He planned to leave then for Kostroma in Russia, where there is his mother and two younger brothers, Info-Prim Neo reports. “His mother has moved to Kostroma many years ago. His younger brothers also live there. Vadim tried to leave for Kostroma last year, but was detained at the customs office and obliged to return home to do his military service. He had lived at my place for three months as he did not have a place to stay. His father could not be found even now,” Liubov Pelin, the woman who accommodated the young man before conscription, has told Info-Prim Neo. Vadim sent a letter from the army to her recently, informing her that he received the rank of corporal. He said he will be released in two months and will go to Russia. Liubov Pelin also said that she spoke to the nurse of the brigade where the young man was doing his military service, who told her that Vadim was a quiet man and quarreled with no one. He indented to go abroad to work and earn money, including for changing his family name as his father, whose name he bore, has never taken care of him. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Petru Marcov, mayor of Olanesti town of Stefan Voda district, from where the young man was, said the man’s relatives, including his mother, were informed about the tragedy and are expected to come to Moldova, while Vadim Harin’s father, who is reportedly in Talmaz village, could not be found. The Cahul Military Prosecutor’s Office started a legal case over violation of the gun safety rules, which resulted in the death of a person. Vadim Harin was injured fatally from a gun by a colleague of his while on duty.
