Young persons in Moldova can apply for Master, Ph.D. studies in Germany

Young persons in Moldova have the opportunity to apply for Master or Ph.D. studies in Germany. In addition, university teaching staff is invited to apply for research stays at German universities. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Open Society Foundation (OSI) are offering a joint scholarship programme for holders of first university degree or master’s degree, as well as for the teaching staff in one of the following disciplines: Political Sciences, Sociology, International Relations, Law, Economics, Public Administration, Administration in Education, Public Health, and Philosophy. The aim of the DAAD/OSI programme is to improve the quality of teaching and research in social sciences in Moldova and to establish a network between German and Moldovan scientists on the basis of which further international contacts will develop. Applicants for the two-year-scholarships for Master courses must be graduates or attend the last year of study, provided that they will obtain their degree until the beginning of the scholarship. At the same time, good knowledge of the German or English language is an indispensable prerequisite for obtaining one of the scholarships. Together with the scholarship may be awarded a German language course of two months, to be attended in Moldova before the beginning of the stay in Germany. According to the director of the Educational Advising Centre in Moldova, Angela Muset, the scholarship includes a monthly stipend and covers the cost of travel to Germany and the health insurance.
