The joint commission for accepting applications for places to study at pre-university education institutions in Romania during the 2016-2017 academic year started work in Chisinau. Dozens of applicants came to the Lyceum “Gheorghe Asachi” to submit the required documents in the morning of July 13, IPN reports.

According to the young people, the level of studies in Romania is higher and the graduates there have more prospects of building a career. Nicoleta Ceban finished the ninth grade at a lyceum in Bender town and wants to study in Romania because studies and accommodation there are free of charge.

“I, as a mother, want my child to be near me, but she works hard daily and passed the exams very well and I want her to be appreciated much more. Her work should produce results,” said Nicoleta’s mother Marina Ceban.

The young people are convinced that there are more development opportunities in Romania namely because this country forms part of the EU and the diplomas are recognized in a number of states. “The studies in Romania open up more opportunities, first of all for personal development,” said Nicoleta Rosca, who graduated from a Chisinau lyceum.

The commission started work at 9:30am, but the applicants came several hours earlier so as to manage to file the documents. Some registered on a waiting list in the evening of July 12.

In Chisinau, the applications can be submitted on July 13 and 14, between 9:30am and 1pm and between 3pm and 6:30pm. In Cahul, the commission for pre-university education worked on July 11-12, while in Balti will work on July 15-16.

The commission for higher education will accept applications in Balti on July 18-20, in Chisinau – on July 22-26, while in Cahul – on July 28-30.

Romania this year offers over 5,650 scholarships to study at colleges and universities and for residency and doctoral studies.
