Young people who distinguished themselves this year awarded

The young people with special accomplishments in science and technology, literature and arts archived this year and who distinguished themselves by civic activism were awarded at the Gala of the National Youth Awards 2017 on November 24, IPN reports.

The Youth Award in science and technology went to Doina Fosa and Ion Agapi, with Igor Nicoara and Olga Chernelev obtaining honorable mentions in this category.

The Youth Award in literature and arts was conferred on Mihaela Dvornic and Virgil Botnaru, while Rusanda Curca and Sergiu Garabajii received honorable mentions.

The Youth Award for civic activism was received by Corneliu Doni and Rodica Caimac, with Igor Bodean receiving an honorable mention.

The National Award for developing the youth sector in the Youth Specialist 2017 category at community level went to Svetlana Budistean, youth specialist in Varnita, Anenii Noi. The same award for the Youth Specialist at district level was given to Tatiana Lazar, senior specialist of the PR service of the Ungheni District Council.

The National Award for developing the youth sector in the Youth Worker 2017 category was received by Corina Erhan of the Orhei Youth Center and Orhei Youth Fund. Honorable mentions in this category were given to Victoria Ivancioglo, head of A.O. “Perspectiva”, and Nonna Mihalcean, acting director of the Resource Center for Adolescents and Youth “Crat” of Balti.

The financial value of the awards is 12,000 lei, while of the honorable mentions 5,000 lei.

The National Award for developing the youth sector in the Local Youth Council 2017 category, to the value of 15,000 lei, went to the Ialoveni District Youth Council. The National Award for developing the youth sector in the Youth Center 2017 category, to the value of 20,000 lei, was given to the Youth Resource Center “Dacia”.

In her speech, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc said the young people represent over 1/3 of Moldova’s population and their contribution to the development of society is remarkable and indispensable. The state authorities will continue to make effort to promote and support the young people.
