Young people with a passion for history and culture now have the chance to express their creativity and help protect local heritage. The General Directorate of Culture and Cultural Heritage, in partnership with the Chisinau History Museum, is launching the contest "Neighborhood heritage captured through the lens of your gadget", IPN reports.
The competition is open to students aged between 12 and 19. They have to make a short film about a historical monument in the neighborhood where they live or go to school. Each video should include a description of the monument, relevant images, local stories or legends and suggestions for its conservation.
Projects can be submitted until April 10, and the most successful ones will be honored at the Laureates Gala on April 18, International Monuments and Sites Day. The videos will also be published online for the community to enjoy.
Through this competition, the organizers aim to stimulate young people's interest in cultural heritage and encourage them to become ambassadors of local history.
