A number of youth organizations dealing with HIV prevention and students will take part in training seminars where they will learn to cooperate so that the steps they take are more efficient. The project within which the seminars will be held was launched in January by the Youth Resource Centre Dacia with support from UNESCO. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Dacia Center director Ion Babici said the best national practices in HIV programming will be collected, published and made available for youth and student organizations from all over Moldova. A national forum of youth organizations will be organized in order to engage a larger number of students and youth leaders in HIV prevention at all levels. National by its scope, this project will focus on northern Moldova, especially on the city and region of Balti where 8 of 1,000 people are found to be living with HIV. The project will last for a year. Its budget is about US$16,000. Officially, there are 9,000 HIV-infected persons in Moldova.
