Over 40 students of a Chisinau college, including a minor, were evacuated from their dorm following a fire that engulfed one of the rooms of the building, IPN reports.
According to the Civic Protection and Emergencies Service, the fire started on the fourth floor of the dorm situated at 40/1 Mihail Sadoveanu St in Ciocana district on November 3. Two firefighting vehicles travelled to the scene. The fire destroyed things inside the room. In parallel with the firefighting operation, the firemen evacuated about 40 persons from the fourth and fifth floors so as to avoid cases of carbon monoxide poisoning. The minor was taken out from the fifth floor with the help of a ladder as he could not come out himself.
The fire was localized shortly and didn’t extend. The circumstances and cause of fire are yet to be found out.
