A 24-year-old man suffered severe burns in a fire in his parents’ house in Durlesti town, the municipality of Chisinau. Liliana Puscasu, the head of the Anti-fire Center of the Firefighters and Rescuers Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that the fire broke out in the annex to the house located on Livezilor St at around 2.30 on June 2. A gas leak generated an explosion. The man was in the house at that moment and suffered burns of the first-third degree on 60% of the body. Arriving at the scene, the firefighters started to extinguish the fire and noticed the gas cylinder that could explode at any time. They had to use particular methods to avoid a tragedy. The cylinder was cooled with a special solution and was then taken out of the flames. At around midnight, the fire brigade was called to Teleradio-Moldova Company, where a fire broke out in the administrative building. Six special vehicles from almost every district of Chisinau rushed to the scene because the company has a large number of employees. The police are investigating the case to establish the person to blame and to estimate the damage. Owing to careless smoking, a room in a house in Vanatori village, Nisporeni district, was completely destroyed by fire. Thirteen fires occurred in Moldova during June 1-2. They resulted in one death. The 863 fires that happened this year caused 100 deaths.
