A man aged 18 from Tîrnova village of Dondușeni district was hit mortally by a freight train running on the Ocnița-Bălți road in his native community last night, IPN reports.
According to press officer Eugenia Molchanov, the man was moving along the railroad illegally. The injuries he received as a result of the impact were incompatible with life and the ambulance team that arrived shortly could not save him.
The police were alerted by a person on guard at the station in Tîrnova. An investigation is under way.
