A man aged 25 was put on a ventilator after he suffered serious injuries when falling from the balcony of a dorm of the Chisinau Ecological College.
According to the National Emergency Medicine Institute, the young man fell from the fourth floor of the dorm situated on Burebista St. As a result of the impact, he suffered a major polytrauma associated with an open head injury, fracture of the skull base and multiple fractures of the arms.
The call to the ambulance service was made at 1:40am. When on the spot, the doctors found the young man in a state of coma. After receiving primary medical care, he was taken to the intensive care section and is now on mechanical ventilation.
Contacted by IPN, the Ecological College’s director Dumitru Danu said the young man is not a student of the college and he fell when he attempted to enter the dorm through the balcony. He was under the influence of alcohol and fell from the second floor.
An investigation is under way.
