A man aged 35 died on the way to the hospital after he was hit by a freight train on the railroad in Putinești village of Florești district last night.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Florești Police Inspectorate Ina Moscaliuc said the freight train running on the Șoldănești-Bălți route set off from Șoldănești town at about 10pm. After it passed the level crossing in Putinești, the engine driver saw a shadow on the railway, at a distance of about 100 meters. When the train came closer, he sounded the horn in accordance with the instructions.
“As the person didn’t react, but sat down on the rails, he started to brake and blocked all the wheels of the train. The locomotive failed to stop on time and struck the person. Owing to the suffered injuries, the person died on the way to the hospital. It was later determined that this was a man born in 1986 from Gura Căinarului village of Florești district,” said the press officer.
The exact cause of death is to be found out. Other circumstances are being established.
