Young man electrocuted to death in Vulcanesti district

A 21 year old man from Slobozia Mare village, Vulcanesti district, was electrocuted to death while trying to cut a high-tension wire. According to the Communication Department of the Union Fenosa Company in Moldova, the young man didn’t use any equipment or methods of protection, using only an instrument for cutting metal. The case is being investigated by the police and by the Energy Inspectorate. Another case of electrocution was recorded near the village Sadaclia, Basarabeasca district. A 17 year old teenager received severe burns on both his legs when trying to pull out a dead bird from the electric wires. The Company’s administration advises the population to strictly respect the protection rules against electrocution and urges for an immediate report of any defects of the electric installations or accidents to the telephone number 43-11-11.
