Young man drowns in Ghidighici lake

A 20-year-old man drowned in the Ghidighici lake. The press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergency Service, Tatiana Corceac, has told Info-Prim Neo that a group of friends went to rest on the bank of the lake last Saturday. At about 23.00 o'clock they to decided to have a swim. 6 of them entered the water, but only 5 got out. The man was sought for all the night through. The rescuers took his body from the water only in the morning. The rescuers from Chisinau took out a 16-year-old girl from a well in Ghidighici village, Chisinau municipality. The girl had signs of having been injured and was taken to the hospital, as the police is probing the case which occurred last Sunday. 32 people, including 12 minors, have drowned in Moldova since the beginning of the year. According to data of the Medical Statistics Center, some 200-300 people get drowned in Moldova yearly, as 258 cases were recorded last year. The rescuers insist that people should swim only during the day and in specially recommended places.
