A young man was killed, while another two were hurt when a number of granite panels fell onto them when they were unloading these from a truck. It happened on the territory of an enterprise based in the municipality of Bălți in the evening of September 15.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the three young men got stuck under the panels that weighed over 1.5 tonnes. Rescuers intervened swiftly with special equipment, but could not save one of the three men.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Bălți Police Inspectorates Eugenia Molchanov said the incident happened on the territory of a former plant were a company that is processing and cutting stone rents a storehouse. The man who died was 25. The other two are aged 34 and 35 respectively.
Preliminary examinations showed that not all the safety rules were obeyed during the unloading. A criminal case was started to determine all the circumstances.
