A man aged 29 is wanted by the police on suspicion that he attempted to commit a cyber-attack on a public institution. More exactly, he tried to illegally get authorization on governmental information systems belonging to the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service, through the brute-force method, IPN reports.
The Service noted that as part of the investigation, searches were carried out at the addresses from which the suspect acted. There were seized servers, storage boxes and secondary equipment for ensuring the uninterrupted functionality of these and three stationary computers for managing criminal activity.
No restrictive measures were taken against the young man and he left Moldova through the Transnistrian region. His whereabouts haven’t been yet determined, the Security and Intelligence Service has said.
The 29-year-old man faces three to seven years in jail.
