Young man arrested over large fraud cases

A young man was arrested by the Transport Police unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on suspicion of fraud in extremely large amounts. According to the police, although he is just 21, the young man hailing from the town of Cupcini, Edinet, has a long criminal record for fraud cases. This time, he has aroused police suspicion after he had defrauded 9 persons, residents of Chisinau and Balti, by promising them assistance in obtaining Romanian citizenship, visas, and international driving licenses. But after receiving the money, the fraud vanished. With a rich imagination, the young man was always inventing news schemes of defrauding naive people. This way, at a gas station in Causeni, he pretended to be the chief of the Road Police department and asked 20 litres of “Premium 95” gasoline and 100 lei from an employee of the gas station, which he eventually received. Under the same “cover”, the suspected fraud obtained 35 litres of petrol from another gas station in Causeni. The suspect will be prosecuted under article 195 of the Penal Code. If he will be found guilty of embezzling money in large and extremely large amounts, the young man could spend up to 20 years in jail.
