Representatives of the about 15,000 young persons that protested on Monday evening in the center of Chisinau demand that the votes are re-counted by a commission representing the civil society, journalist Natalia Morari told a news conference on Tuesday, April 7, Info-Prim Neo reports. The young people also demand setting up a commission of the civil society that will monitor the mass media. According to organizers, around 15,000 young people gathered in public places in central Chisinau on Monday. The Chisinau City Hall issued a protest authorization to Hyde Park association. The young persons say they do not believe that the elections were again won by the Communists, as the Central Election Commission declared. At the news conference, they said that by this evening they would collect evidence that the elections had been rigged. The organizers said on Monday they managed to gather approximately 15,000 persons only through the Internet as “the television channels and radio stations are hermetic” as Ghenadie Brega, a member of Hyde Park, stated. Immediately after the news conference, the organizers went to the Great National Assembly Square, where the protesters reportedly got involved in altercations with the police.
