The initiative group for the creation of the Young Generation Party calls on the authorities to set up a parliamentary commission that would study and would delimit the historical borders of Moldova. The group’s leader Andrei Donica, in a news conference at IPN, said the country’s young generation must know the historical borders and how they were modified later.
Andrei Donica called upon the authorities to struggle to keep the sovereignty of the state. He said that Moldova suffered the consequences of the ‘donation’ of territories to other entities by former Soviet leaders, based on falsified statistics.
“We want to sensitize the authorities to the danger of Moldova disappearing following the parceling of its territory out. We want to remind that Moscow and Kiev lied to the people and appropriated areas that belonged to Moldova in the course of history,” stated Andrei Donica.
The activist considers that Ukraine must give back all those areas to Moldova. According to him, it’s over 60 years of the appropriation of a number of areas, but none of the current and former rulers of Moldova raised the issue of restoration of the country’s historical borders. However, the historical territories must not be regained by armed conflicts. But the secret documents must be opened to the public so that the people know how these areas were appropriated and what impact this had on the country.
