The State Hydrometeorological Service issued a yellow code advisory for air pollution in Balti municipality, where the level of pollution with formic aldehyde will be higher on July 13 and 14, IPN reports.
The highest formic aldehyde concentrations exceeded the sanitary norms two times. During the next few days, these concentrations and air pollution are expected to increase owing to weather condition unfavorable for dispersion.
Forecasters recommend the population, especially the children, pregnant women and elderly people, to maximally reduce the stays in industrial areas and to walk in green areas. Those who suffer from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases should reduce the physical effort.
To prevent the rise in the dangerous concentrations of pollutants in the air, the business entities are obliged to temporarily reduce the noxious emissions by about 15-20%.
