Weather forecasters issued a yellow code warning for floods on the Prut River for the period between April 10 and 25, IPN reports.
According to the State Hydrometeorology Service, the floods may follow the larger volume of water released from the Costesti-Stinca accumulation pond, of up to 190 m3/s. Compared with the situation on April 9, rises of about 1 meter in the Prut water level are expected on the sectors Ungheni – Leova, and Leova – Cahul.
The Prut water may also flood the meadow in the inferior course.
