XI Winter Charity Bazaar raised record proceeds

The money raised at the Eleventh Winter Charity Bazaar will be donated in assistance to Moldovan NGOs serving underprivileged women and children, Info-Prim Neo reports. The event was held by the International Women’s Club of Moldova (IWCM). According to IWCM president Sara Kirby, this year the Bazaar managed to raise a record-breaking sum of more than $9.300. Sara Kirby said she was very glad to have this opportunity to help the Moldovan people improve their living standards. The yielded proceeds will be used to assist 5 organisations, whose financing proposals had been selected by the IWCM Grant Committee. These are the cottage hospital in Balauresti village, Nisporeni district, the kindergarten Spicusor in Criuleni, and the non-profit organisations Generatia Mea NGO, from Chisinau’s suburban village of Gratiesti, “Caroma Nord” in Parlita, Falesti district, and Pro Dezvoltare NGO in Harbovat, Anenii Noi district, This year’s charity bazaar has brought together 14 national and international organisations. In ten years the Bazaar collected more than $100,000, which was used for charity. The International Women’s Club of Moldova was started in April 1997. Initially, IWCM was for expatriates to provide them opportunities for charitable work and insights into the life and culture of Moldova. Now the club has 80 members and is open to all women.
