Wrestler Irina Rîngaci wins U23 European Championship

After winning the title at European level among seniors, Irina Rîngaci won the Under-23 European Wrestling Championship. The 19-year-old athlete scored three victories in the 65 kg weight class, IPN reports.

In Skopje, Irina beat Nerea Blanco of Spain, Kamila Kulwicka of Poland and Kateryna Zelenych of Ukraine. She is trained by Andrei and Petru Chiperi.

At the U23 European Championship, Moldova’s Anastasia Nikita also won the top place and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. In the 59 kg weight class, Tudor Cîrlan’s pupil beat Anna Fabian of Serbia, Anne Beatrice Nuernberger of Germany, Solomiia Vynnyk of Ukraine and Tamara Dollak of Hungary.
