Greco-Roman wrestler Artium Deleanu has won a bronze medal at the Under 23 Senior European Wrestling Championships held in Novi Sad, Serbia, IPN reports.
In the first match of the 55 kg weight class, he was beaten narrowly by the future finalist Florin Tița of Romania. In the playoffs, Artium Deleanu defeated Serbian wrestler Sebastian Kolompar 5-3, while in the match for the bronze medal he won against Hungary’s Bence Kovacs 11-4.
In the 67 kg class, Valentin Petic will compete in the playoffs against Georgia’s Giorgi Kurtanidze. The playoffs in the 72 kg class will involve Moldovan wrestler Valeriu Toderean.
