The veteran of World War II Constantin Cojocari, aged 105, received the award conferred by the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis - the National Order of Faithful Service, class III, with peace insignia, intended for the military. The award was handed over by chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Romania in Moldova Ovidiu Năftănăilă, IPN reports.
The Embassy of Romania in Moldova noted that the National Order of Faithful Service was awarded to the veteran in gratitude for his devotion to Romania and for the important military services provided for the country during World War II.
Born on February 2, 1919, Constantin Cojocari survived with dignity the Stalinist war and deportation, always bearing the Romanian values in his heart.
The award ceremony involved the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Novac, defense attaché, lieutenant-colonel Ciprian Efimov and the head of the National Association of War Veterans of the Romanian Army Mihail Postovan.
