World Hair-Dressers Organization awards gold to two Moldovans

The Moldovan hair-dressers Maria Popescu and Marina Bodea have got golden medals from the jury of the World Hair-Dressers Organization (WHO) for efforts in developing its international activity. The awarding ceremony happened before this year’s edition of the world championship in hairdo, makeup, body –art and nail design, held in Chicago (USA.) The national team of 10 members got the sixth place in the body painting category and the ninth place in hairdo, thus entering the top 10 of the world’s mightiest professionals in the area. Maria Popescu, the president of the Moldovan hairdressers association told a news conference, on Tuesday March 18, that although it had been hard, she was satisfied she reached her two goals: to win golden medals and to promote her country’s image abroad. Another benefit for the team is that they got ten-year visas for USA to participate in various contests. Maria Popescu says the participants paid for all the expenses, and during all those ten years of participating in prestigious contests they have got no backup from the Government. The world championship in hairdo, makeup, body –art and nail design from la Chicago joined representatives of 44 countries. Now the team ready for World Championship to be held in Paris in 2010.
