World Bank Office in Moldova launches 2009 Youth Photo Competition

The World Bank Country Office in Moldova launches the 2009 Youth Photo Competition 2009: “Moldova – Your Community, Your Life.” The competition is open for young people aged 13 - 18, regardless of their residence status or citizenship, with the exception of the World Bank staff family members, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a news release of the institution, the submitted photos will be judged to the extent to which they meet the theme of the photo contest, with a focus on originality, composition, overall impact, artistic merit and technical excellence. The judges are a panel of World Bank representatives and external partners. The winners will be awarded three main prices (between $100 and $30) and winning certificates. There are a number of other prices. The photos with obscene or offending images violating the decency standards of the community will not be accepted. The deadline for submissions is May 17, 2009, at 18.00. The winners will be announced by May 29, 2009. Winning photographs will displayed in a Photo Exhibition and will be showcased in a calendar.
