World Bank launches Public Information Center at the Economic Studies Academy

The World Bank has launched a Public Information Center in the premises of the Economic Studies Academy (ESA) in Chisinau on Monday. This has become possible after the two institutions signed the respective accord on December 3, 2007, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the WB country manager to Chisinau, Melanie Marlett, the center has been launched to disseminate knowledge and information about the World Bank's activities.
The Public Information Center (CIP) will disseminate publications by the World Bank, as well as reports, projects and other materials. The regional office is going to disseminate, on a monthly basis, economic reports, books published by the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia.
According to the agreement, the WB will offer two computers and backup equipment, while ESA will insure the access to the WB library. According to ESA rector, Grigore Belostecinic, the ESA's library will supply the room and will insure the free access tot he Center.
