Anna Akhalkatsi is the new World Bank Country Manager for Moldova, who will take up her duties at the end of this July. She was presented in a meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and WB Country Manager for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen on June 2, IPN reports.
Pavel Filip said the Government highly appreciates the efforts made by Alex Kremer during his term in office and thanked this for his involvement in the development of projects to modernize the country. He also wished success to the new WB representative in Moldova.
The Premier assured that the Moldovan authorities realize the benefits of the partnership with the World Bank and make the efforts needed to fully realize the existing potential.
For his part, Satu Kahkonen congratulated the executive on the carried out measures, including for the approval of an agreement with the International Monetary Fund and for strengthening Moldova’s banking sector.
