A fair of objects made by persons with disabilities will be mounted inside the Chisinau shopping center Atrium on November 30. The event forms part of the activities staged on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is celebrated on December 3, IPN reports.
Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Anastasia Ocheretnyi told a news conference that the authors of the best exhibited works will be awarded. They will also be able to earn money from selling exhibits, as the other participants in the fair.
The program also includes a photo exhibition entitled “The world as I see it” that will be mounted at the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” on December 2.
In a roundtable meeting on December 1, there will be presented the regulations concerning the creation and maintaining of jobs for persons with disabilities. The document was drafted, but proposals are now being collected for improving it.
The gala to award the legal entities that employed persons with disabilities and created appropriate conditions for them will take place at the Summit Events on December 6.
The deputy minister also spoke about the actions taken by the authorities to improve the situation of persons with disabilities. The decision to merge two allowances – for trips by public transport and the annual compensation for travel expenses – takes effect on January 1, 2017. The move will not cut the incomes of persons with disabilities and is aimed at reducing the time and documents needed for preparing two files.
The UN decided that the International Day of Persons with Disabilities will be marked on December 3 in 1992.
