The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau municipality in April 25 staged a workshop entitled “Reflections on the advantages and limits determined by the existing legal framework in the context of the Education Code” as part of the Forum of Teachers’ Ideas “Chisinau Dialogues 2018”. The Division’s acting head Rodica Druta has told IPN that the workshop was held to implement the measures stipulated by an order made at the end of 2017, by which the process of de-bureaucratizing teaching activity was launched.
Rodica Druta said the discussed regulations concern the management of the implementation of school documentation, with emphasis on the school nomenclature, methodology for distributing the workload of teachers, standard regulations of the special education institution, student behavior assessment guide and its necessity and relevance and the online electronic platform for registering children younger than seven.
According to the Division’s head, the conclusions of the workshop will be transmitted to the superior bodies for consideration and implementation. The workshop will continue until May 15. A report on the issues discussed at municipal level will be compiled afterward. “We intend to formulate a view for amending or improving particular regulations,” stated Rodica Druta.
In the opening of the workshop, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc underlined the necessity of adjusting the work of teachers to the new regulations approved at the end of 2017, whose goal is to de-bureaucratize and improve the education system. “Our objective should be to promote an open and constructive dialogue in order to analyze the impact educational policies on the education system. I ask you to submit proposals for improving the regulatory framework so that the teachers regain the prestige in society and the profession of teacher becomes again attractive,” stated the minister.
The workshop involved representatives of the subdivisions of the Chisinau City Hall, of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and national and municipal trade unions and managers of general education institutions of the municipality.
The Forum of Teachers’ Ideas “Chisinau Dialogues 2018” was launched nine years ago as a platform intended for teachers, mangers, specialists in education sciences and all those interested in education problems.
