A workshop on writing proposals for documentary films conducted by OWH TV Studio will be held for the first time in Chisinau during May 15-18, Info-Prim Neo reports. The workshop is open to young film directors and producers from Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia and Armenia, who have ideas for a documentary film but don’t know how to find the money for their projects. For four days the young directors and producers will learn how to develop their film ideas into a project, how and where to look for funds for their projects, how to promote the produced film, and many other tricks of the documentary industry. The workshop will be conducted by Rada Sesic, a Netherlands-based film critic, playwright and director with a rich experience in running workshops on filmmaking. She is also a member of the selection board of several European foundations that support filmmaking, such as Jan Vrijman Fund and Hubert Bals Fund, selector and programmer at European and Asian festivals, Sarajevo Film Festival, the Amsterdam International Documentary Festival (IDFA), and the Kerala International Film Festival (India). The workshop will take place concurrently with the International Documentary Film Festival “Cronograf”. The trainees will have the opportunity to meet East European directors with experience in fundraising for films and to watch their works. Those interested should contact the OWH TV Studio either by e-mail or phone (e-mail: owh_tvstudio@yahoo.com; tel/fax: 225409; contact person: Victoria Coroban) for additional details and for an application form. Submissions will be accepted until 1 March 2008. The workshop on writing proposals for documentary films is a joint effort of the OWH TV Studio (Moldova), Magika Film (Ukraine), and the European Cultural Foundation.
