Works to prepare education institutions for cold season almost complete

99% of the works to prepare the Chisinau education institutions for the 2009-2010 cold season have been finished, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting an informative note from the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport. Current repair works to the value of 5.086 million lei were carried out in 202 institutions. The extensive repair works in 101 institutions cost 20.700 million lei. As many as 160 tonnes of coal worth 360,000 lei have been purchased for the education institutions that have autonomous heating systems. Construction materials, furniture and equipment to the value of 3.905,2 lei have been used to prepare the institutions for the 2009-2010 heating season. There are 80,992 first-twelfth graders, 155 preuniversity, 146 preschool and 28 extra-scholastic education institutions in the municipality of Chisinau at present. 23,875 of the 30,393 children going to kindergarten eat four times a day there. The daily food for a child in kindergarten costs 13.50 lei - 9.00 lei allocated from the municipal budget, while 3.50 lei by the parents.
