The decree to promulgate the law to declare the construction of the Ungheni – Chisinau gas pipeline public utility works of national interest, signed by President Igor Dodon, was published in the June 30 issue of the Official Gazette, IPN reports.
Thus, over 200 hectares of farmland will be nationalized. In the name of the state, the Government will take measures to expropriate the property situated along the route of the public utility works of national interest, which was identified in accordance with the project documentation. This means that the state will purchase the land that will be crossed by the gas pipeline from the owners for an estimated €600,000.
The construction works will start next year. The gas pipeline is to be put into operation at the start of 2019.
