Works on “First House” start next week

Only 20 applications for the “First House” Project implemented by the Chisinau administration have been filed so far. The district heads say the number of applicants is much higher, but it takes time to gather the 15 documents that must be obtained from different institutions, Info-Prim Neo reports. Roman Sofroni, the head of the Capital Constructions Division, said the works to excavate the plot on which the apartment buildings will be erected will begin next week. The place will be fenced and the building's foundation will be laid. Two buildings with 400 apartments will be constructed on Ghioceilor St and Mircea cel Batran Blvd. within the “First House” Project. The authorities promise the blocks will be erected during 30 months. The project is intended for young families and budget-funded workers. The beneficiaries will be selected depending on the number of family members, incomes and possession of dwelling. The banks propose attractive offers – payment of an advance of 5 – 30% of the apartment's price and raising of a loan repayable in 10 to 30 years, at an interest rate of 9%.
