The works to lay out the square on Colina Pushkin Street are coming to an end. This week, the automated irrigation system that will cover the whole square will start to be installed. Vasile Efros, head of the Territorial Development and Environment Unit of the General Housing and Amenities Division, has told IPN that the project will be completed within a month.
Vasile Efros said that the square has been so far considerably improved and turned into an attractive place for the community. Modern playgrounds and fitness grounds were built, providing the people living nearby with spaces for recreation and physical activity. Comfortable urban furniture, including chess tables, was also installed, thus encouraging outdoor social and intellectual activities. Street lighting was modernized, ensuring a safe and pleasant evening environment. The new alleys make it easier to move through the square. In addition, two access stairs to the park were rehabilitated, improving the accessibility of the area.
The green space of the square was diversified by planting a variety of ornamental trees and shrubs. Black pines, large-leaved lindens, Japanese cherries, maples, red oaks will grow in the area. Hybrid magnolia shrubs will also contribute to the beauty of the landscape.
The project has been carried out with the generous support of the Polish Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, being a proof of successful international cooperation for the benefit of the local community.
Investments in the project total over 2 million lei.
