A 52-year-old man had a narrow escape from death by electric shock after he touched the live parts of an electrical panel he was fixing in Chisinau's suburban town of Vadul lui Voda. But he didn't remain unharmed. The workman suffered head trauma as he fell thrown back by the electric shock, and also first degree burns of the face and scalp, a spokesperson for the Emergency Hospital told Info-Prim Neo. A woman thought to be around 50-60 years of age was hospitalized for detox, after she was found on the street with an acute alcohol intoxication. A man, 45, was found hanged in his home. Near midnight, a 35-year-old man struck a Mazda as he was riding drunk a bicycle. With head trauma, the man was admitted to the Emergency Hospital. On Thursday, September 11, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 700 calls, including 80 cases of trauma, 68 cases of acute viral diseases, 26 cases of acute diarrheal diseases, 7 brain strokes and 10 acute coronary syndromes.
