Working group to provide expertise for banking and commercial secret legislation

The General Prosecutor's Office and the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will set up a working group to provide expertise for the banking and commercial secret legislation, in accordance with the European requirements. Then they will word proposals to improve it. The decision was made on Monday at the sitting of the Supreme Security Council (SSC), which had as a topic the annihilation of the abuses and falsifications in heritage processes, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the press unit of the Moldovan President. The council has considered cases of falsifying and abuse committed by a group of people formed of lawyers, decision-makers from the NBM and judges. Applying fraudulent schemes, they contributed to depriving some stockholders of Moldova-Agroindbank of securities worth 8 million lei. Using their job powers and information about stockholders of commercial banks, the grouping started to create artificially debt contracts between stockholders of the bank and some persons recruited by them for this purpose. President Vladimir Voronin has said the realization of the fraudulent scheme speaks about the existence of encouraging conditions allowing such violations as to commercial banks, and promoting similar actions on the financial market. At the sitting, they decided that the NBM should harshen the policies of selecting the personnel and to enhance the control over the legality of the banking system of the country. The Supreme Court of Justice is to analyze the judiciary practice in hearing litigations linked to ownership rights.
