A working group that will be set up by order of Prime Minister Ion Chicu will assess the national legal framework that regulates the powers and duties of the police. The group will be led by Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Pușcuța. Until February 15, the group will come up with proposals for reorganizing the police so as to liquidate the police responsible for the control of business entities, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the objective of the working group is to determine the implementation of new procedures as of July 1, 2020. Premier Chicu requested Minister of the Inferior Pavel Voicu to strictly monitor the activity of the subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate and to efficiently inform the public about the guidelines used by the Ministry at present.

The official said all the police subdivisions should maintain a perfect balance so as to ensure the respect for the state interests and to remove the pressure exerted on the business sector.
