Work-related accidents result in 35 victims in 2006

In the first 10 months of 2006, the Labor Inspection registered 32 work-related accidents as a result of which 35 persons died.
The assessment of work-related accidents divided into activity fields shows the high rate of accidents in construction enterprises – 17 severe cases resulted in 9 casualties. In the processing industry there were registered 25 severe accidents and one lethal, in agriculture and forestry – 9 accidents and 6 deaths. 15 accidents, including 4 lethal took place at the enterprises working in transportation and electricity, natural gas distribution and water supply enterprises. In the analyzed period, two children were seriously injured, after being involved in agricultural works.
On the whole, from the beginning of the year, the Labor Inspection Service registered 295 work-related accidents, in which 303 persons were involved. 204 cases were investigated by labor inspectors and 91 accidents – by the commissions of the enterprises.
Of the total figure of investigated accidents, 125 cases were included in the list of labor accidents, of which 93 severe ones, as a result of which 99 persons suffered.
