A woman aged 65 from Slobozia-Horodişte village of Rezina district was struck fatally by a car on one of the streets of the village, IPN reports.
The 29-year-old motorist was driving back near a house when the woman slipped on ice right under the wheels of the car. She died on the spot.
The police subjected the driver to an alcotest and this showed the man didn’t drink alcohol. Investigators are to establish if the impact could have been avoided and if the driver is somehow to blame for the accident.
