Woman robbed in Chisinau market

A man stole the bag of a woman selling in Chisinau's Central Market and tried to run away, but was caught by the police, the head of the General Police Commissariat's press office Adrian Jovmir has told Info-Prim Neo. According to Jovmir, police officers saw a man who behaved suspiciously and went after him. The man stopped near a stall and followed the vendor. When the young woman was dealing with some buyers and was busy, he stole her bag and tried to disappear, but did not manage to. The 33-year-old man has a criminal record. He confessed that he stole the bag containing two mobile phones and other belongings to the value of about 3,000 lei. The culprit faces a fine of 4,000 to 10,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to three years' imprisonment.
