Woman recites poems learned in childhood on 100th birthday

Ecaterinei Tricolici worked throughout her life at the kolkhoz canteen and also prepared food for wedding parties held in the village. She brought up two children, a boy and a girl. Now she has three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She completed four grades at school only. Currently, at her 100th birthday, she can be proud of a good memory as she can recite poems she learned in childhood and can sing patriotic songs. Representatives of the local authorities of Chisinau paid a visit to the woman to take her flowers and wish her many happy returns, IPN reports.

Ecaterina Tricolici was born and worked in Arionești village of Dondușeni district. In 1993, she moved to Chisinau and lives with her daughter. Elena Jereghi said her mother has led a quiet life and advised her children to be patient and to know to forgive.

In 2018, the municipality of Chisinau rendered homage to five persons who turned 100 and more. The given persons received a lump sum of 5,000 lei.
