A 76-year-old woman from Limbenii Vechi village of Glodeni district died in her house engulfed by fire on Sunday afternoon, IPN reports.

Preliminarily, it was established that the source was the stove. The fire was fully extinguished after a few hours. Rescuers found the partially charred body of the owner, a 76-year-old woman during the intervention, said the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.

Firefighters repeatedly urge the people not to clog the ventilation ducts, to periodically ventilate the rooms where combustion takes place, especially when stoves, electrical appliances or boilers that run on wood or natural gas are used. At the same time, the citizens are asked not to overload the stoves and to use only combustible materials for which the stove was intended, avoiding lighting the fire by spraying gasoline, oil or other easily flammable liquids. To prevent fires and carbon monoxide poisoning, it is advisable to extinguish the fire in the stove at night.

The about 1,500 fires that occurred so far this year resulted in 88 deaths, with three of the victims being minors.
