A 56-year-old woman died in a house blast in Pohrebeni village of Orhei district in the morning of June 3. As a result of the explosion, the house caught fire and the ceiling collapsed, IPN reports.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the call to the 112 emergency service was made close to 6am. Two rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. The firefighting struggled to contain the fire that engulfed two rooms of the house. The woman’s body was found partially carbonized.
The fire was localized in about half an hour and was fully extinguished in two hours. The first examinations showed a gas cylinder exploded and caused the fire.
