Woman killed in truck crash

A person died and other 7 suffered injuries as a result of 5 road accidents which took place in Chisinau over the past 24 hours. According to the Road Police, a severe road accident which killed a woman and injured other 3 persons took place on September 10, on Petricani street. A Mercedes truck entered the opposite lane and hit another ZIL truck. As a result of the collision, a passenger of the Mercedes, aged 44, died on the way to the Emergency Hospital and the second suffered a severe fracture of the left shank. The driver of the Mercedes is currently at the intensive care unit of the Clinical Emergency Hospital, suffering from severe dislocation of the right thighbone. The road police launched an investigation to determine the culpability of the parties. Over the past 24 hours, the Road Police registered 359 braches, of which 66 are speed limit related, 8 linked to road manoeuvre laws and 7 of these are pedestrians crossing the street unlawfully.
