Woman killed cruelly by acquaintances

The police arrested a man and a woman who are suspecting of murdering the 61-year-old woman who was found dead a week ago near a bridge on the Chisinau-Bacioi road. Adrian Jovmir, the head of the General Police Commissariat’s press office, has told Info-Prim Neo that on November 10 a driver informed the police that a person was lying dead near the bridge. The investigators who went to the scene remained shocked by the cruelty with which the woman was killed. She had injuries all over the body and a stab wound near the neck. She also had signs of strangulation on the neck. It was established that the woman was from the municipality of Chisinau. The main suspects are a woman aged 31 and a 40-year-old man, who are acquaintances of the victim. Both are from Dubasari town and have a criminal record. Questioned by the police, the suspects admitted their guilt, saying they did not want to kill the woman, only to get money from her. The two face 8 to 15 years in jail. A number of 155 cases of murder have been recorded in Moldova so far this year.
