Woman hurt fatally by minibus moving backward

A woman aged 56 from Pruteni village of Falesti district was wounded mortally by a minibus moving backward in the evening of April 1. The driver told the police that he didn’t see the woman because it was dark.

Contacted by IPN, the chief of the Pruteni police post Dumitru Ciuperca said the driver, who is from Edinet district, sold limestone in the village. The woman approached the minibus to see the merchandise and then wanted to go home. The driver didn’t see her when he drove the minibus back. The collision was fatal and the woman died on the spot.

The same evening, a road accident between the villages Dumitreni and Alexeevca of Floresti district resulted in the death of a 26-year-old man. The man was the occupant of an Audi car that collided with a Dacia Logan. According to preliminary examinations, the accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Audi.

The National Patrolling Inspectorate said the 11 accidents that happened on the national roads during the last 24 hours resulted in two deaths and 12 people hurt.
